Gujarat Narmada Q1 sales up at Rs 620 cr

Ahmedabad, July 14 The public sector fertilisers and chemicals major Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Company Ltd (GNFC) has seen its sales rise by 35 per cent to Rs 620.08 crore in the first quarter of the fiscal 2007-08, ended June 30, compared to the corresponding quarter in 2006-07.

Announcing the highlights of results at Narmadanagar in Bharuch district on Saturday, Mr S.G. Mankad, Chairman, said that profit before tax is 64 per cent higher at Rs 116.21 crore as against Rs 71 crore of the corresponding quarter last year. The earnings per share is at Rs 4.88 as against Rs 3.21, according to a release here.

Mr Balwant Singh, Managing Director, said: that the figures of the current quarter include those of the erstwhile Narmada Chematur Petrochemicals Ltd, which has been amalgamated with GNFC with effect from February 15 this year.
