The Hindu Business Line : LV Prasad’s new surgical centre

Hyderabad-based L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) will set up a modern surgical centre on its existing campus in Banjara Hills here, named Kothapalli Rama Rao Ophthalmic Surgical Centre. The funds, amounting to over Rs 2 crore, for the centre were donated by Mr Kishore Kothapalli, Managing Director of Modern Roofings Ltd, in memory of his father. The centre will have 12 operating rooms, pre-operative areas and a central sterilisation facility with a capacity to perform 40,0 00 complex surgical procedures. “LVPEI’s tradition of providing nearly 50 per cent of surgical procedures free of cost will continue with the new centre,” Dr G.N. Rao, Chairman of LVPEI, said in a release. –
