Events States - Andhra Pradesh Call to face leadership challenges
Our Bureau Hyderabad, July 16 There is a need for a roadmap to address leadership challenges which arise out of the present era of information, according to Ms J. Geeta Reddy, Minister for Sugar, Major Industries, Commerce and Export promotion, Government of Andhra Pradesh. She was speaking at the inaugural session of the three-day meet on Information Science Technology and Management (CISTM 2007) organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry in association with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, The Information Institute, Virginia Commomwealth University, and Osmania University here on Monday. The Minister said the contribution of Andhra Pradesh to the Indian economy was significant. Mr B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chairman, CII (Southern Region), and Chairman and Managing Director, Infotech Enterprises Ltd, said there was a need for good leadership across the value chain of a company. Prof Mohammad Suleman Siddiqi, Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University, invited various industries to partner with the university to transform the students as future potential employees. Dr George Kasper, Professor, Virginia Commonwealth University, emphasised that advances in knowledge management would be critical to solving increasingly complex problems. Mr Pradeep Dhobale, Chairman, CII-Andhra Pradesh, proposed the vote of thanks, according to a release.
