Tiruchi, July 17

The Tiruchi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (TIDITSSIA) has impressed upon the Small Industries Development Corporation of Tamil Nadu to set up a trade centre in the city on the lines of the one at Coimbatore. The request was put forward by a delegation of the TIDITSSIA, led by its President S. Sridharan, to the SIDCO Managing Director, Mr G. Santhanam, who visited the city recently.

The association members have also impressed upon him the need for setting up a training centre for existing entrepreneurs

so that they can go in for technology upgradation to meet global competition. The training centre could also be utilised for skill upgradation of manpower, especially for the fabrication industry of Tiruchi, which is currently facing an acute shortage of trained manpower.
