Oilseeds & Edible Oil Industry & Economy - Events Price outlook to dominate global vegoil meet
Our Bureau Mumbai, July 18 The global vegetable oil market has turned bullish following perceived demand-supply imbalance in the wake of huge demand surge from the biodiesel industry. In the last 12 months, prices have spiked by over 40 per cent. Currently, weather-induced uncertainty too contributes to market volatility. How does the immediate future look like? Will there be demand compression? Will production respond to high prices? What are the inherent risks in the market and how should trade and industry manage the risk? How would the race between palm oil and soyabean oil pan out in future? These are some of the key questions that one might be able to seek answers to at the Singapore International Oilseeds and Oils Conference 2007 to be held during August 13-15. Topics of talk
Major topics that would be addressed by experts include impact of biofuels on the dynamics of the oil market; issues like sustainability, logistics (shipping and freight) and food safety (trans fats).
