IVRCL mulls entering new verticals

Hyderabad, July 20 IVRCL, a leading infrastructure development company, is planning to enter new verticals, while strengthening others in a variety of segments such as mining, railways, hydro power and oil and gas pipelines.

Working on plans

“We have been working on plans to develop these verticals. We have already entered some of them in a small way. We will scale them up as we go ahead,” Mr S. Ramachandram, Deputy Director (Business Development and Corporate Strategy of IVRCL, told Business Line.

Sees huge opportunity

The company foresees a huge opportunity in railways, with the Union Government contemplating laying exclusive freight corridors across the country.

It executed a railway line project at Sholapur.

In the mining segment, the company had bid for the uranium mining contract in Kadapa district.

In hydro power, the company had executed a 22 MW (5.4x4) unit in Uttaranchal for a client.

The company entered into an agreement with PTPS (Podvodtruboprovodstroy), Russia, eyeing the huge oil and gas pipeline opportunity opening up in the country.
