CIAL posts Rs 37-cr profit

Thiruvananthapuram, July 20

The Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has recorded a profit of Rs 37 crore in 2006-07 as against a profit of Rs 31 crore in the previous year. This was disclosed at the meeting of the board of directors of the company, presided over by the Chief Minister, Mr V. S. Achuthanandan, here on Thursday. The meeting decided to pay a dividend of eight per cent to the shareholders. The annual general meeting of the company would be held on September 10. The meeting was informed that the work on the taxiway at the Nedumbassery airport had been completed. This would help reduce the boarding and disembarking time by 30 minutes. The meeting also decided to hold talks with various airline companies to bring down the ticket charge for Gulf Malayalees to travel to Kerala and back. - Our Bureau
