Textiles customs classifications

New Delhi, July 20

A book on customs classifications on textiles was released by the Minister of State for Textiles, Mr E.V.K.S. Elangovan, here. The book titled Customs Classifications on Textiles and Textile Articles under HSN Explanatory Notes has been authored by Mr Ajay Kumar Gupta, who is currently Customs Commissioner in Chennai.

The objective of this book is to demystify the harmonised structure of classification with respect to textiles and textiles articles. It aims at addressing the grey areas of classification. Tariff classification of textiles till date remains an extremely complicated issue.
