Horlicks Wiz Kids contest

Kochi, July 20

As many as 7,000 students from 45 schools in Kochi participated in the Horlicks Wiz Kids 2007 held here for the fourth successive year. The highlight of the event this year was the spirit of environmental awareness spread by Greenpeace, a non-profit organisation with a presence in 40 countries. Thousands of students joined hands to support the "ban the bulb" campaign and displayed concern about the threat posed by climate change. Arshad Mohammed, Standard Five, Rajagiri Public School (junior category), and Anees Backer, Standard Ten, Toc H Public School (senior category), emerged winners. They will form the Horlicks Wiz team 2007 from Kochi and will represent the city in the national finals in November 2007. The national winners will represent India in Brazil this year. - Our Bureau
