Syndicate Bank pays final dividend

New Delhi, July 21

Syndicate Bank has paid a final dividend of Rs 45.1 crore to the Central Government for the financial year 2006-07. The cheque was presented to the Union Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, by the bank’s Chairman and Managing Director, Mr C.P.Swarnkar, here today. The bank had for the financial year 2006-07 declared total dividend of 28 per cent, including an interim dividend of 15 per cent. With the payment of 13 per cent final dividend, Syndicate Bank has for 20 06-07 paid a total dividend of Rs 97.14 crore to the Centre. The 15 per cent interim dividend paid earlier amounted to Rs 52.04 crore. The Government holds 66.47 per cent stake in Syndicate Bank. —
