‘TCS, Infosys, Wipro top 3 employers’

New Delhi, July 22 IT services major Tata Consultancy Services, followed by Infosys Technologies and Wipro, are the top three employers among IT-ITES companies in 2006-07, according to industry body Nasscom.

HCL Technologies and Cognizant were rated fourth and fifth in the top-20 list, a Nasscom release said here.

Satyam Computer Services, Hewlett Packard, Genpact, Oracle and Intelnet Global Services completed the top ten list. Others in the top-20 pecking order include WNS Global Services, Mphasis, Patni Computers, Convergys and First Source.

“The top-20 companies collectively employ over 5-lakh people of the 1.6 million employed directly in the industry. The rankings are based on the India-based headcount of firms with IT-ITES operations in India, as reported to Nasscom in its annual survey,” the release said.
