Bengal Chamber skills training camp for IT graduates

Our Bureau

Kolkata, July 23

In a bid to address both the recruitment needs of corporates and placement requirements of institutes for their students, the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) has set up a ‘Training and Placement Wing’ (TPW).

The cell, a brainchild of the IT sub-committee of the chamber, will get in touch with organisations to ascertain the appropriate manpower requirements.

Companies will be able to recruit directly from the assembled student pool. The initial screening will be done by the TPW as per the profiles required by the recruiters.

Briefing newspersons here on Monday on the new initiative, expected to come into play from August 2007, Mr S. Radhakrishnan, President of BCCI, said the chamber and city-based ALB Consultancy have joined hands to launch the TPW on a pilot basis.
