ABG Shipyard secures Rs 1,460-cr Thai co order

Mumbai, July 24 ABG Shipyard Ltd informed the BSE on Tuesday that it has secured an order worth Rs 1,460 crore for construction of 12 vessels of approximately 32,000 DWT from Precious Shipping Public Co Ltd, Thailand, as a part of its ship acquisition programme.

This takes the order book position of the company, as on date, to Rs 5,560 crore.

As per the notice given to the stock exchange, Precious Shipping Public Company Ltd is a pure dry cargo ship-owner operating in the handy size sector of the Tramp freight market.

The company is a global player and operates a fleet of 44 ships.

The company’s scrip on Tuesday closed at Rs 489.60 up 7.19 per cent from the previous day’s close.
