Petroleum Indraprastha Gas net rises 39%
Our Bureau New Delhi, July 26 Indraprastha Gas Ltd, the sole supplier of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, registered an overall growth of 39 per cent in profit after tax in the first quarter of financial year 2007-08. The net profit increased to Rs 38.42 crore (Rs 27.63 crore). According to the company, IGL has registered over 19 per cent increase in sales value in financial terms over the corresponding quarter last year. The sales value in financial terms increased to Rs 185.90 crore (Rs 156.02 crore). The selling price of CNG in Delhi at Rs 19.20 per kg is the least in the country. At these rates, CNG offers nearly 68 per cent savings towards the running cost when compared to petrol-driven vehicles.
