Advertising ‘Indecent’ undergarment ads banned
Our Bureau New Delhi, July 26 The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has banned the Lux Cozy Underwear and Amul Macho Underwear advertisements on television. According to the Ministry’s statement, the advertisements are “indecent, vulgar and suggestive”. All channels have also been directed to be more careful in future in the content of the advertisements they allow on their channels, and “adhere to the Advertisement Code prescribed under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 and Rules”. In April this year the Government, in connection with another undergarment brand, had directed all channels to be more careful in the selection of advertisements.
