Mangalore, July 26 Terex Vectra Equipment (P) Ltd — manufacturer of construction equipment — wants to sell more than 1,700 backhoe loaders in the country by the end of the current financial year, according to Mr Amit Sood, General Manager of the company.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, he said that the ‘TX 760 Backhoe Loader’ is a versatile machine on any site. It can accommodate many roles such as digging and loading. The aim of the company is to become the No. 2 in the backhoe loader segment by 2009, he said.

The company, which sold 968 equipment during 2006-07, wants to exceed the target of 1,700 by the end of the current fiscal.

The company sold 391 and 139 equipment during 2005-06 and 2004-05 respectively, he said. Mr Sood said that the company wants to achieve a turnover target of Rs 300 crore during 2007-08.

The company has 35 dealers with more than 65 branch offices.
