Airlines Cathay Pacific to add flights on India-Hong Kong route

Our Bureau Mumbai, July 26 Cathay Pacific plans to increase the frequency of its flights on India-Hong Kong route. Mr Rupert Bray, Outgoing Country Manager, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd said, “Bilateral talks are awaited, both the Governments have to conduct bilateral talks and that will happen soon.” The current number of flights on this route stands at 4 per week. The company also plans to focus on China in a big way. “We will look at enhancing the link between China and India,” said Mr Rupert. China focus
The company looks at Beijing Olympics as an excellent opportunity to enhance the link. “We will work with Dragon Air, a Hong Kong based international airline, and will jointly conduct some promotional schemes,” said Mr Tom Wright, General Manager, India, Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. The company will, however, keep Hong Kong in the forefront of people in the long term as it is seen as a destination for leisure and business. Currently, leisure travellers constitute one out of every 100 travellers to Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific Airways is a Hong Kong-based airline offering scheduled passenger and cargo services to 105 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, Europe, West Asia and Africa.
