Infrastructure GMR Infra net up 7.4 %
Bangalore, July 27 GMR Infrastructure Ltd (GIL), reported an increase of 7.4 per cent in its profit after tax while its growth in net revenue from operations grew 16 per cent for the quarter ended June 2007. The company’s profit after tax was Rs 69 crore on a revenue of Rs 477 crore compared to Rs 65 crore and Rs 409 crore, respectively, for the same period during FY 2006-07. GIL’s operating revenue also showed a gain at Rs 24 per cent at Rs 562 crore during Q1 against Rs 454 cro re during the first quarter of last year. According to a company release, the operations at Delhi airport contributed a revenue of Rs 186 crore, while the power business added Rs 334 crore to the topline of the company at the consolidated level. Its consolidated EBIDTA increased by Rs 28 crore with 21 per cent growth from Rs 130 crore in Q1 FY 07 to Rs 158 crore in Q1 FY 08. Mr G.M. Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of GMR Infrastructure Ltd, said, “Winning of the bid for Sabiha Gokcen Airport Instanbul, Turkey, marks the foray of GMR into the International Arena, which is of strategic significance to GMR Group.” The GMR Group and with its consortium partners Limak Insaat Sanayi San Ve Tic A.S Turkey (Limak) and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) won €450 million bid during the quarter. – Our Bureau
