Petroleum Gujarat Gas PAT up 91% in Q2
Ahmedabad, July 28 Gujarat Gas Company Ltd’s profit after tax (PAT) increased by 91 per cent to Rs 42.24 crore in the second quarter of the year ended June 30, 2007, compared with Rs 22.15 crore during the corresponding period last year, the company said. The consolidated net sales moved up from Rs 217.6 crore to Rs 275.4 crore, an increase of 27 per cent. During the current quarter, a favourable exchange rate enabled the company to regain some of its earlier losses on account of exc hange fluctuation. On a comparable basis (excluding the impact of exchange rates and other one-time items in the current and previous quarters), the PAT increased by 30 per cent. On a year-to-date basis for the six months ended June 30, 2007, the consolidated net sales were Rs 608 crore compared with Rs 443.1crore in the corresponding period of the previous year – an increase of 37 per cent.
