Intelligroup to step up BPO, services biz

V. Rishi Kumar

Hyderabad, July 29

IT services provider Intelligroup is to step up its business process outsourcing (BPO) and managed services business, complementing enterprise solutions and application development offering to its global clients.

The company sees this as an extended offering to some of its customers who are demanding a single vendor. This would also encompass providing training and support to customers.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Intelligroup, Mr Vikram Gulati, said that the company has witnessed robust growth during the current fiscal and sees more business from markets such as the UK.

Mr Gulati told Business Line during his India visit that the company had also strengthened its financial services business and recently entered into a build, operate and transfer agreement with eXpertivity Mortgage Solutions Corp, a nd planned to provide incubation service for their offshore development work.

Referring to surging rupee, Mr Gulati said IT companies are faced with the reality of lower profitability due to this development. This would have to be addressed by new means, including enhancing internal efficiencies.

Apart from expanding the scope of managed services, the company has also stepped up work on testing-related business, with special focus on testing for enterprise-related areas.

UK co buy

Intelligroup Europe Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of Intelligroup, had recently filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), about its agreement with ISG Novosoft Technologies Ltd, to acquire customer contacts, fixed assets and employees.
