McLeod Russel net profit up at Rs 19 cr

During the quarter ended June 30, 2007, McLeod Russel India Ltd posted a huge jump in profits on an estimated 3.5 per cent growth in sales at Rs 73.55 crore (Rs 71.09 crore in the same period last year).

The profit before tax amounted to Rs 19.35 crore (Rs 1.04 crore) and net profit Rs 19.10 crore (Rs 81 lakh). According to company sources, the bulk of the profits came from other income at Rs 19.68 crore (Rs 5.31 crore).

The interest liability was lower at Rs 5.27 crore (Rs 12.63 crore).
