Property expo in Kochi on August 3 to 5

Kochi, Aug. 1 Kerala Builders Forum is organising Property Expo 2007 here on August 3 to 5 at Marine Drive Grounds.

A total of 41 builders and financial institutions such as LIC Housing Finance, ICICI, HDFC, SBI, SBT are participating in the expo. LIC Housing Finance is the main sponsor of the expo this year. Mr S.K. Mitter, Director and Chief Executive of LIC Housing Finance will inaugurate the expo.

Mr Geroge E.George, Secretary of the Kerala Builders Forum, said that the society aims at going hand in hand with the new developments in the State, which is encouraging more investments and projects.

Growth rate

He pointed out that there has been a growth rate of 35 per cent for residential complexes in Kochi and the momentum is expected to continue. However, the activities of the new projects are on the decline on account of the anomalies in Floor Area Ratio (FAR) issues, which would be sorted out soon.

Senior officials at the LIC Housing Finance said that they had disbursed Rs 200 crore for housing finance in Kerala during the last fiscal and expecting a 35 per cent growth in the current financial year. LIC HFL is one of the largest providers of housing finance in India having a network of 115 operating offices across the country. The company also has a representative office at Dubai and opening up shortly in Kuwait.
