Harrisons Malayalam profit up

Kochi, Aug. 1

Harrisons Malayalam Ltd (HML)'s sales and profit before tax have shown an increase of 8 per cent and 23 per cent, respectively, during the ?rst quarter of the current fiscal. As per the unaudited results for April 1 - June 30, 2007, sales have grown by 8 per cent to Rs 41.81 crore from Rs 38.99 crore in the same quarter in the previous year. Notwithstanding an increase in wages, better efficiencies and elaborate cost control measures enabled the company to contain costs and consequently increase profit by 23 per cent from Rs 52 lakh to Rs 64 lakh. - Our Bureau
