Our Bureau Mumbai, Aug 2 M&M’s automotive division clocked sales of 19,163 units in July, a growth of 46 per cent over the corresponding previous period. Domestic sales increased to 18,536 units (12,481 units), growing over 49 per cent. The company exported 627 vehicles, a four per cent dip from 655 earlier. Mahindra Renault sold 2,890 units of the wide body sedan, Logan, during the month.Logan is the highest selling sedan, while Scorpio is the highest selling UV. Farm equipment unit
M&M’s farm equipment division saw total sales volume dip to 6,987 units (inclusive of exports) during the month from 7,526 units earlier. However, tractor exports rose 18 per cent, while domestic sales dipped nine per cent. The company posted volumes of 6,368 units (7,000 units). Cumulative sales from April to July showed a marginal dip of one per cent. The company posted total sales volumes of 34,278 tractors in the fiscal ended March, including exports, compared to 34,884 in the previous year. The company recently rolled out its two millionth vehicle. Dr Pawan Goenka, President of the automotive division, said: “Over the last 60 years, volumes have grown at nine per cent a year, while CAGR in the last five years has grown by 22 per cent. UV sales account for 82 per cent, LCVs nine per cent, three-wheelers six per cent and exports three per cent.”
