Minor port in Cuddalore notified

Coimbatore, Aug. 2

The Tamil Nadu Government has notified the private ship-building yard to be developed at Silambimangalam in Cuddalore district as a minor port. This follows a recommendation made by the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board. In a Government Order issued by the Highways Department, Mr K. Allaudin, Secretary, Highways, said the State Government has accepted the proposal of the CEO, Tamil Nadu Maritime Board, to declare the shipbuilding yard to be developed by Goodearth Shipbuilding Pvt Ltd at Silambimangalam, between Reddiarpettai and Pudukuppam in Cuddalore district, as a minor port with the name of ‘Silambimangalam Shipyard Port’. —
