Brands Globus Spirits plans Rs 100-cr investment; launching new brands
Our Bureau New Delhi, Aug. 2 Liquor company Globus Spirits Ltd plans to invest Rs 100 crore in capacity expansion and setting up captive power unit in the next one year. The company will take its distillation capacity to 49.8 million litres from the current 29 million litres at its plants in Samalkha (Haryana) and Behror (Rajasthan). It also plans to set up 2 MW power plants at each of its two distillation plants for captive consumption. “The company is exploring various options to finance the expansions including coming out with a public offering of its equity,” said Mr Ajay K. Swarup, Managing Director, Globus Spirits. The company filed its draft red herring prospectus with the market regulator SEBI last month to raise about Rs 68 crore. Globus plans to launch 4-5 new brands in the next four months in six territories. It is targeting a national presence in the next one year.
