Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 5 The Kerala Government and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will work together to establish a ‘skills university’ to provide employment-oriented technical training to young people in the State.

This idea was discussed during a meeting between the Kerala Chief Minister, Mr V. S. Achuthanandan, and a CII delegation in the city. Mr Pradipta K. Mohapatra, Chairman-Southern Region, CII, who led the delegation, said that the ‘skills university’ would develop different courses to enhance the employability of youth in Kerala.

The Chief Minister and other Government officials have shown keen interest in the venture, he stated. Further details of the venture will be worked out soon, he added.
