BSNL triple-play in Hyderabad soon

Hyderabad, Aug. 5

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, Andhra Pradesh Circle, on Saturday announced that by September it would launch triple-play services in Hyderabad to provide cable television, Internet and telephone through the regular telephone wire.

At a press conference, the Chief General Manager, AP Circle, Mr S. Ram lingam, said the pricing and the television channel offerings would be announced soon. Initially, the bouquet of offerings would comprise 50 television channels. Mr Ram lingam had earlier announced the commissioning of the upgraded Mass Calling Intelligent Network (MCIN) platform, which can handle 1,500 calls per second compared to 500 earlier.

The platform has been used to route calls for the popular TV show Kaun Banega Crorepathi among other TV contests.
