Paper leak: ICAI entrance exam will be held on Aug 26

New Delhi, Aug. 6 The Institute Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on Monday said that it has decided to cancel the Common Proficiency Test held on August 5 all over the country and abroad owing to a paper leak. This test would now be held on August 26. CPT is an entrance exam for joining the chartered accountancy course.
About 82,000 students in about 280 centres had appeared for the CPT on Sunday (August 5). The ICAI President, Mr Sunil Talati, said that the institute was in the process of constituting a High Level Committee to examine the matter related to paper leak in its entirety.
“This is the first time in the history of the institute that this (paper leak) has happened.
We will constitute a committee of 5-7 council members to look into the matter. We have already filed a FIR,” Mr Talati said.
Meanwhile, ICAI said in a statement on Monday that all the students who were issued admit cards for the CPT exam held on August 5 would be eligible to appear in the exam to be held on August 26 without any further payment of fee.
All the students would be issued fresh admit cards and these would be dispatched by August 11.
