Programme on RTI today

Bangalore, Aug. 6

The Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Association will conduct a one-day `public awareness programme' on Right to Information here on Tuesday. The programme is being organised in association with the Bangalore University and Bangalore Doordarshan Kendra to discuss rights of a citizen under the Right to Information, timeframe for processing an application from a citizen and the consequences of failing to meet the time line. Prominent speakers like Karnataka Lokayukta Chief, Justice N.Santosh Hegde, Mr K.K.Misrha, State Chief Commissioner will share their views on various aspects of RTI and questions relating to its value and importance in improving governance. - Our Bureau
