Accentia buys 2 US cos

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 7

Accentia Technologies, which operates out of Technopark, has acquired two IT companies based in the US. The companies, GRS Physicians Billing Services and GRS Systems, are located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and are engaged in providing billing and collection services in the US healthcare insurance field. According to a release, two products of the companies – Falcon and Imtas, both designed to enhance the efficiency of healthcare-related financial and insurance acti vities, have a good presence in the US market. Mr Pradeep Viswambaran, CEO, said that the two products together are expected to fetch income of $10 million during the current year. Some more acquisitions are on the cards, he added.Accentia shares gained five per cent to close at Rs 201.40 on the BSE on Tuesday. —
