Roadways States - Other States Ministry approves Rs 14.2 cr for Uttarakhand
Our Bureau New Delhi, Aug 8 The Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways has approved road improvement works for a six kilometre (km) stretch of almost Rs 14.2 crore for Uttarakhand. This stretch forms the part of the highways which leads to the pilgrimage place of Yamunotri Dham – where there is a heavy traffic from April and continues till October end. Road upagradation
An official press release issued here on Wednesday said that the Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Mr T.R. Baalu, has approved road improvement work in Uttarakhand at a cost of Rs 1,419.45 lakh. The Minister has approved the proposal for construction of two-lane carriageway with improvement of 6.35 km stretch (from km 176 to km 182.35) of the National Highway-94 on Dharasu–Phoolchatti Section, it added. The proposed stretch is single lane and its riding surface has a lot of cracks, undulation, sunken portion at several places and improper super elevation on curves.
