Intel Chairman coming next month

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Aug. 8 Dr Craig R. Barrett, Chairman of the United Nations’ Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technologies and Chairman of the Board, Intel Corporation, would visit India from September 3-5.

The primary charter of Dr Barrett’s visit — his ninth trip to the country — is to drive the Intel World Ahead Program with communities, government, academia and industry.

“This programme is an initiative through which Intel plans to invest $1 billion globally over the next five years to accelerate access to uncompromised technology across four major focus areas – accessibility, connectivity, education and content,” it said.

Dr Barrett is scheduled to visit New Delhi and a Tier-IV town in South India during his upcoming trip.
