Sierra acquires ArrAy; to expand Chinese operations

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Aug. 8 IT services and outsourced product development services provider Sierra Atlantic has announced it has acquired ArrAy Inc, a Boston-based software engineering services firm with global delivery centres in Guangzhou and Shanghai in China.

The combined entity after the companies assimilate operations will have more than 1,500 employees worldwide.

The Chairman and CEO of Sierra Atlantic, Mr Raju Reddy, in a statement said: “by expanding our operations into China, we will not only provide greater delivery capabilities and flexibility but also enable our customers to pursue the local Chinese market.”

“The combination of the two companies will help serve the US and European customers for the New Oracle Economy (which Sierra Atlantic has defined as Oracle, Peoplesoft, Siebel and Agile) and Outsourced Product Development and Testing Services,” he said.

More avenues

Sierra Atlantic’s expansion into that market opens additional opportunities to leverage lower cost services locally that have the appropriate language skills. ArrAy is among select US companies that have successfully developed delivery capability in China.

Its success mirrors Sierra Atlantic’s consistent growth.

“We are excited about the additional opportunities we can pursue with the increased resources and capabilities that Sierra Atlantic provides and the expanded client base that we can serve,” said Mr Charlie Palmer, co-CEO, ArrAy.
