Infosys BPO files countersuit against US co

Our Bureau

Bangalore Aug. 8 Infosys BPO has filed its own claims against New York-based The Buying Triangle (TBT), following the lawsuit by the US company. It has also moved to dismiss the suit, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to reports in US media, The Buying Triangle, a spend management services firm, had filed a suit against the Indian firm seeking unspecified damages in excess of $600,000. TBT has alleged that Infosys, through its subsidiary, exposed its customer data online, stole its business plans and refused to release its data, the reports said.

Infosys BPO said: “it does not comment on the pending litigation and as a result will not respond in detail to the complainant’s various allegations other than to note that it denies the complainant’s allegations and intends to vigorously defend itself against these meritless claims.”

“Further, protecting our client’s data and intellectual property is central to Infosys BPO’s corporate values and ethics and Infosys BPO’s relationship with The Buying Triangle is no exception. Specifically, Infosys BPO states that it has already returned to TBT its client and proprietary information,” the company said.

Finally, Infosys BPO also clarified that Infosys Technologies Ltd has not been named as a party to this lawsuit and is therefore not involved in the matter.

TBT had signed a deal with Infosys BPO last year when the entity was known as Progeon.
