PNB pays dividend to Centre

New Delhi, Aug. 8

Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Wednesday paid a final dividend of 60 per cent amounting to Rs 109.34 crore to the Union Government for 2006-07.

The bank had already paid an interim dividend of 40 per cent amounting to Rs 72.90 crore to the Central Government.

The dividend cheque for Rs 109.34 crore was presented to the Union Finance Minister, Mr P Chidambaram by PNB’s Chairman and Managing Director, Dr K.C.Chakrabarty.

The two Executive Directors of the bank, Mr K Raghuraman and Mr J.M.Garg were also present on the occasion. As on end-June 2007, PNB had achieved business of Rs 2, 38,249 crore. –
