Minda Group, Furukawa sign pact

New Delhi, Aug 8

Auto component maker A.K. Minda Group on Wednesday announced its joint venture with Furukawa Electric Co Ltd, a $9-billion Japanese component supplier to cater to the Japanese companies such as Suzuki, Honda, Toyota in the Indian market. The new joint venture company would be known as Minda Furukawa Electric Pvt Ltd, in which the latter would have 51 per cent stake and the remaining 49 with the Minda group. The company would set up its manufacturing facility at Bawal near Gurgaon at an initial investment of Rs 80 crore to produce range of wiring harness products for four wheelers such as couplers, terminals, relay box, junction box, and steering roll connectors used for the airbag systems etc. — Our Bureau
