IIL forays into nutraceutical animal feed market

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Aug. 10 Indian Immunologicals Ltd (IIL) has forayed into animal feed segment by launching nutraceutical animal feed products and is targeting to capture over 10 per cent of the domestic market over the next year.

“Our products launched today are available at half of the price of other products in the market and will improve productivity of livestock by about 25 per cent,” Mr N. Anand, Head of Marketing (Animal Health), IIL, told newspersons here on Friday.

The wholly-owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) launched three products — Calsagar (animal feed pellets with Calcium, Phosphorous and Vitamin D3) for improved milk production; Garbhamin (essential trace minerals) for superior reproductive performance; and Goumix (first customised mineral supplement for livestock based on regional mineral mapping).

“The Goumix is a rare product which addresses the mineral deficiency problem across the country. About 15 variants of the product will be launched soon to suit livestock in different parts of the country,” Mr Anand said.
