Hyderabad, Aug. 12 Hyderabad Marriott is planning to aggressively promote the concept of ‘one-stop wedding’ solutions. “Out first attempt to sell the concept of one-stop wedding has received an overwhelming response from the people and local business community and we will consider conducting the wedding expos during all weddings seasons of the year,” Mr Mathew Cooper, Director (Food & Beverages), Hyderabad Marriott, told Business Line on the sidelines of Hyderabad Wedding Expo 2007, organised by the hotel on Sunday. The objective of the expo was to provide a liaison between the people and their various needs pertaining to the marriages, he said. “We were approached by 65 business houses to be associated with this wedding expo. Marriott is also offering wedding planners. One only needs to decide when to get married and not how.” The hotel would charge Rs 965 per person for wedding parties, including accommodation. Similar exhibitions could also be taken up by Marriott in other cities in India later, he added. Leading local business houses put up stalls for pearls, jewellery, saris, wedding trousseaus, mehendi, bridal make-up, DJ and innovations. A good numbers of pundits were also seen at the venue. The visitors were treated to a fashion show displaying designer collections in bridal wear from Brisah and Mebaz. The one-day exhibition saw visitor attendance of 5,000 and many appeared to be amused by the one-stop wedding concept. “It is interesting because Hyderabad is home to much non-local population for whom it may be difficult to make wedding arrangements. One-stop wedding solutions could be the answer to nuclear families,” said Mr Veeresh, a businessman.
