Coimbatore, Aug. 13 Growing weary of your old wrist-watch?; Here comes an opportunity to swap it for a trendy one at the Titan Industries’ annual month-long exchange mela.

Unlike last year when it offered varied discounts depending on models, this time Titan has chosen to offer a 25 per cent flat discount on the purchase of any new Titan watch in exchange of the old one.

Exchange Scheme

Titan has timed a nationwide media campaign for the exchange scheme for which it plans to spend about Rs 5.5 crore.

The offer, which will cover all Titan models except its 18-k ‘Nebula’ brand gold watch, will be valid up to September 9, according to Mr Vijesh Rajan, Regional Sales Manager, Titan (South).

Customers choosing ‘Nebula’ gold watches will stand to get high value gifts, instead of cash discounts, during the scheme period.

Watch Market

Titan industries’ watch division, with a 20 per cent growth in its value turnover in the past two years, accounts for 60 per cent of the organised watch market in the country and during 2006-07, it sold 9 million watches of all brands under its umbrella (3 million units of Titan brand alone) through its network of 5,000 outlets and over 200 exclusive World of Titan showrooms.

It hopes to keep this growth tempo this year too.
