Spices & Condiments Jeera futures turn volatile on NCDEX
Our Bureau Mumbai, Aug 14 Jeera futures on NCDEX turned volatile on speculative trading. It touched a high of Rs 12,336 per quintal and dropped down to Rs 12,160 per quintal before closing with a loss of Rs 40 at Rs 12,182 per quintal. Soya complex – soyabean and soya oil – lost most of its last week gains on NCDEX on Tuesday. Soyabean for September delivery on NCDEX lost Rs 10.50 per quintal to Rs 1,571 owing to weak international markets. Profit booking pulled soya oil by Rs 5 to Rs 492 per quintal. Pepper futures were down 2.50 per cent to Rs 13,360 per quintal on profit booking. Chilli futures dipped 1.13 per cent to Rs 4446 per quintal owing to lack of prices signal from Guntur spot markets. “The arrivals in the Guntur markets were lower at 30,000 bags due to truckers strike,” a trader said. Guarseed futures, which had gained Rs 200 per quintal last week, were down Rs 10 to Rs 1,865 per quintal on profit booking. NCDEX recorded a turnover of Rs 2,592 crore against Rs 2,984 (up to 11.30 pm) on Monday. MCX’s turnover was at Rs 3,195 crore against Rs 8,698 crore up to 11.30 pm) on Monday.
