Bangalore, Aug.14 The Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr H.D. Kumaraswamy, said his Government will support a proposal with the Centre to set up a southern industrial corridor on the lines of Mumbai-Delhi industrial corridor, which may see part funding by Japan.

A delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry, Karnataka, met Mr Kumaraswamy on Monday and asked him to consider the corridor proposal with Bangalore as the hub for the four southern States.

This would help pave way for smoother industrialisation process, saidCII, KarnatakaChairman, Mr N. Reguraj.The corridor project has been mootedby the Japan External Trade Organisation when its Chairman and CEO Mr Yasuao Hayashi, met State officials last month.
