Chennai, Aug. 14 The Puducherry Government is committed to sustainable industrial growth and invites projects that are eco-friendly in the manufacturing and services sector, the Chief Minister, Mr N. Rangasamy, has said.

He said the Government has charted major infrastructure projects, including a special economic zone, expansion of Puducherry and Karaikal ports, a new airport in Karaikal, and a rail link with Chennai along the East Coast Road.

According to Government officials, the Centre has given its “in-principle approval for the 700-acre SEZ near Thindivanam”. For the airport project, 20 hectares of land has been handed to the Airports Authority of India for first phase of development.

Also, the government proposes to build an IT park and has identified lands for it.
