Malabar Cement goes live on SAP ERP

Kochi, Aug. 16 Malabar Cement Ltd, the flagship company of the Kerala Government, has gone live on SAP ERP.

The implementation of SAP ERP is expected to create an IT platform in the company that would bring transparency, accountability, efficiency and integration across the entire organisation.

Key Benefits

Malabar Cement, the only grey cement manufacturing company in Kerala, is looking at integrating its accounting, production, procurement and HR through the SAP’s ERP implementation.

Some of the key benefits the company is expecting through this implementation include improved sales and quality, on-line availability of information, integration across the organisation, standardisation of business process to improve efficiency and productivity and effective utilisation of resources. Keltron was the chosen IT partner to provide required solution to Malabar Cement Ltd.

Mr Srinivas K.S., Managing Director, Malabar Cement, said in a statement that the company’s principal objective is to improve business efficiency and control cost.

Customer Relationship

“Through the fully integrated SAP business solutions, we also aim to achieve information transparency across organisation and enhance customer relationship by empowering our employees through IT enablement,” he said.

The project commenced on February 2 was completed on time on August 1 with 8 modules going live covering 3 manufacturing and 12 sales and distribution location due to excellent commitment from the management and active participation from all department and users.

Mr Ranjan Das, President and CEO, SAP Indian Sub continent, said that the SAP Business Solution deployment will enable Malabar Cement to obtain significant business benefits from accounting to reporting, planning production and maintenance and employment interface.
