Credit Cards & Debit Cards Centrum Direct to bring out card with logo
Our Bureau Pune, Aug. 19 With its presence already in the travel card segment, Centrum Direct Ltd, the foreign exchange, insurance and retail distribution business arm of Centrum Capital Ltd, is all set to bring out one more card with its logo. Mr Gopal Sharma, Managing Director, Centrum Direct Ltd told newspersons it would be a white label card and would be a co-branded card with Visa. The only exception is that it would not sport the name of the bank and would be known as a Centrum card. It is expected to hit the market in the next three months, he said. It is the partner of American Express for its traveller cheques and has a co-branded foreign currency card with Citibank and ICICI. Mr Gopal, who was in the city for the opening of the second outlet in Pune, said it is planning to open up 100 branches across India during the current fiscal, June 2007-July 2008. It has currently 55 branches across the country. He said plans are to add another two more branches in the city and the locations identified are Hinjewadi and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Mr Gopal said it is opening up four offices, Mysore, Koramangala (Bangalore), Mangalore and Gurgaon in the next ten days. Mr Gopal said it has recorded a turnover of Rs 1,200 crore for the fiscal ended June 2007, up from Rs 856 crore for the previous fiscal. He added it was looking at a turnover of Rs 2,000 crore for the current fiscal.
