Poor arrivals: Cardamom being weighed and packed at an outlet in Kochi, Kerala. Delayed harvesting due to heavy rains and damage due to strong winds are likely to lead to a decline in production during the current season (August 2007-July 2008) by 30 per cent to 50 per cent in major producing areas. Poor arrivals in the market seem to be a firm indicator of the production trend. –
