TMB sanctions Rs 10-cr loans

Madurai, Aug. 20

Tuticorin-based Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) has sanctioned loans to the tune of Rs 10.28 crore to 661 self-help groups, under a specially arranged priority sector loan sanction camps through all its 189 branches, on the eve of Independence Day. In a release to the press, the bank has further said that educational loans to 311 members/borrowers of self-help groups were sanctioned under which a member of a self-help group can get a loan up to Rs 5,000 repayable in 12 monthly instalments for the educational purpose of one’s child up to Higher Secondary Level. – Our Correspondent
