Bangalore Aug. 21 Infosys Technologies on Tuesday announced the creation of its Latin American subsidiary and the opening of a development centre at Monterrey in Mexico. The subsidiary, Infosys Technologies S.De Rl De CV, provides the company’s full range of business consulting and IT services for clients in the region and will have more than 250 seats in the first year of operations. Infosys expects to scale up the Monterrey facility to around 1,000 employees by the end of third year of operations. Meanwhile, Infosys has signed up with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) to create an annual global award that recognises young scientists and system developers, whose contemporary innovations are having a dramatic impact on the computing field. Infosys is funding the prize money of $150,000 for the ACM-Infosys Foundation Award. — Our Bureau
