BHEL bags Rs 6,500-cr turnkey contracts

DVC has already awarded turnkey contracts for setting up Koderma and Durgapur Steel thermal power stations of 1000 mw each to Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. The total contract value is Rs 6,500 crore.

BHEL has won the contracts through international competitive bidding. The projects are slated for synchronisation during the Eleventh Plan and will supply power to Delhi for the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

BHEL’s scope of work in the contract envisages manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of steam turbines, generators, boilers, associated auxiliaries, balance of plant and electricals, besides state-of-the-art controls and instrumentation, electrostatic precipitators and switchyard, including civil works.
