Jansons plans exclusive retail stores

Madurai, Aug. 21 The Erode-based Jansons Group, through its flagship textile division Jansons India with a turnover of Rs 102 crore, has plans to open exclusive retail stores across the country, following its foray into men’s formal shirts, men’s and women’s innerwear and sportswear range of products recently.

“In the first phase, the products will be made available in all southern States by the end of 2007 and across India, by 2010 through 100 Jansons exclusive retail stores,” said Mr T.S.Natarajan, Chairman, Jansons Group, told Business Line here.

He said that its dhotis and lungies are known in the State and abroad and added that the formal shirts woven with 100 percent cotton and imported chief value cotton in exciting colours both in solids and strips starts with MRP at Rs.345, innerwear products at Rs.42 and sportswear products at Rs.225 respectively.

The group has three large modern units engaged primarily into fabric weaving, printing, dying and processing. An additional unit for manufacture of garments is being planned at an investment of Rs 10 crore at Erode.

The textile division is already exporting home furnishing textiles, bags, chair canvasses, automobile covers surgical towels etc. additionally, launch of home textiles is being planned in a phased manner with the aim to raise the turnover to Rs 200 crore in textiles and Rs 100 crore in garments by 2010-11, he mentioned further.

Established in 1970, Jansons Group has plans to become fully public by 2010, he added.
